Every shortcut has a tax. You pay it later.
Skipped tests? You'll pay in production bugs. Cut corners on onboarding? You'll pay in churn. Rushed a hire? You'll pay in team dysfunction.
The tax is always higher than it seems upfront.
Because it's not just the fix. It's the opportunity cost of fixing instead of building. It's the trust lost. It's the momentum killed.
This doesn't mean you should be slow.
It means you should be intentional about which taxes you're willing to pay.
Some shortcuts are worth it. Ship fast, learn fast, fix fast.
Other shortcuts are traps. They seem to save time but cost more than they save.
The skill is knowing the difference.
When you cut a corner, ask: what's the tax on this?
If you can afford it, proceed.
If you can't, slow down.
Speed without intention is just chaos.
This is Founder FM. Move fast, but know the cost.
